lime-martini(look closely at the background of this web site before you read this blog and remember that the reason I chose the background was because I love lime and I like it most in an incredibly dry vodka martini)

Due to the acid reflux I developed from the chemo and the inability to drink hard liquor while on Coumadin, I can have neither limes nor vodka. If the breast cancer doesn’t get you down, the lack of martinis certainly will…………….

Pre chemo, I was like the octo-mom. She has lots of kids — so no time to give each one any special attention. I used to have lots of eyelashes … too many to count, so I had to quickly swipe the mascara wand across the whole “family of lashes”. Now 4 months into chemo, I’m down to 3 — 4 eye lashes. Now… I’m like a mom of a first born (single) baby. I carefully take the mascara and lovingly place it on each individual eye lash, as though I were Monet painting a prized impressionist painting.

How will I ever go back to juggling the demands of work, family, exercise and a full complement of eye lashes??????????????

four months into my chemo regime (bald as a new born baby!), I was hospitalized unexpectedly for a blood clot. I normally get such a kick out of the little sundries they leave for you in the hospital — it’s not quite the Ritz, but they try to leave you the necessities you left at home like hand lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. This visit I felt like I was on Candid Camera when the only thing in my little plastic bin was a COMB!

Just sat down to pack for an upcoming trip. WOW! my suitcase sure is light. Imagine how light your suitcase would be if you took out shampoo, cream rinse, brush, comb, gel, anti frizz cream, mascara, shaving cream, mousse, and hair dryer.

of course by the time I load it up with Nexium, B6, Zinc, Coumadin, Lovenox, Magic Mouthwash, Orajel, and Neosporin, I might be weighted down again……………..
